Frequently it is necessary to defend a coverage position in the appellate courts, including the Supreme Court. I also file amicus curiae briefs on cases important to insureds, and seek publication of unpublished appellate opinions which are favorable to insureds and depublication of those which unreasonably favor the insurer.

Frequently insurance cases involve the duties and responsibilities of defense attorneys who have a conflict of interest with the insurer which is providing the defense to the policyholder. Enforcing the rights of the insured to a conflict free defense is necessary.
