Patrick Michael Murphy

Pat Murphy has been representing educational districts for over 25 years. He is a managing partner at the law firm of Harrison, Eichenberg & Murphy, which only represents employers and insurance carriers before the Workers Compensation Appeals Board.

A graduate of Pepperdine University’s School of Law, Pat’s practice began as a trial lawyer when he conducted jury trials in both civil and criminal matters. During those years, he tried cases to verdict in Superior Court as well as the Federal District Court. 

In 1987, he brought that experience to the defense of employers and carriers in workers’ compensation matters. He has since conducted hundreds of trials before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board and has successfully argued complex appellate issues before the California Court of Appeal.

He has lectured on a wide range of topics related to workers’ compensation and provides valuable risk management counsel for many employers when claims are first developing.

A proud New York native and also a military veteran, Pat is now a Ventura County resident with 2 grown daughters. Perhaps the result of their dad’s influence, one daughter now manages employee benefits for a multi-national corporation and the other is an elementary school teacher.
