Would Not Recommend

I hired this attorney in January of 2023 through Vortex Law Group. After explaining the situation in which I was seeking assistance, which was to get help with a loan modification that my grandmother was offered through the VA but was never upheld through the mortgage company. She sold me on somethin...g called a ‘forensic audit’, which I accepted. After signing my attorney-client fixed engagement agreement and paying $3,000 (in two separate $1,500 installments) we began communicating through the third-party app ‘Clio’, where I’d send my documents. Over the course of the about 9 months of working with Vortex, I was told that the attorney handling my case would be Safora Nowrouzi. I met with her once back in January and have had one other meeting with her in or around June 2023. The first representative that worked with me to collect documents was Tara Hendi, up until Feb 21st, 2023. Beginning March 8th, 2023 my case seemed to switch hands over to Stephanie Sisson, who I work with until my last contact with her on June 22nd, 2023. My first meeting with Safora is scheduled on June 27th, 2023. This meeting is concerning to me because she did not seem to remember me or my case at all and had to be reminded that I paid up front for a ‘forensic audit”, because at this point she was trying to claim that I owed her additional monthly fees, which I did not. After this call I never heard directly from Safora again. Instead I had contact with Sandra Silva from that point on. I had another scheduled phone appointment with Sandra and/or Safora on July 5th. The appointment was never upheld on their end. No one reached out. I rescheduled for another phone appointment July 7th which I spoke with Sandra. I expressed my concerns about why my documents that I provided to them kept ‘expiring’ and they would frequently request new versions of documents that I had sent before. I was assured that the issue lies with the mortgage company and that the representatives at Vortex Law were submitting everything in a timely matter and not to worry. My next (and last) conversation with Sandra Silva was in early to mid September where I was again reassured that if I just submit these last documents (again) then they would finally submit my modification request with the mortgage company and someone would follow up with me. That is the last contact that I have had with anyone from Vortex Law Group. I sent many emails asking for updates regarding my case as well as placed many phone calls to the office. I was always told that everyone was busy and they will call me back. To this date, no one has ever returned my call or email. I have made multiple appointments with staff of Safora’s schedule and she has not kept a single one, nor has Sandra. Finally on October 13th I decided to contact the mortgage company directly because I had not received any information regarding my grandmother’s modification because the law firm had placed their address on file for the mortgage company to send any correspondence. I called the mortgage company and found out that my case for modification was closed back in September because documents were not received in time (a failure on their end). On October 12th I requested an itemization of the hours worked on my case so I could see what it was that I was paying for with their service. I have yet to receive a response to that request as well. I had submitted every document requested of me in a timely manner and put my trust into Safora and her team that they would represent me competently and take at least some care and consideration in my business as a paid client for a paid service that they offered me. I recently sought out another practicing real estate attorney, and I was informed that ‘forensic audits’ are rarely offered by trustworthy attorney’s because of the high propensity for them to fail. However, in this case I never got to see the case through because Safora abandoned me as a client before seeing it through.
