Christopher Lawrence Madeksho

Chris is the son of the firm’s founder, Larry Madeksho. He manages the firm’s California office in the Los Angeles area.

Like his father, Chris’s passion is fighting for the rights of victims of corporate negligence and abuse. He is a graduate of the University of Texas and began his human rights work while studying at the American University Law School. He did pro bono human rights work in Costa Rica with Casa Alianza and CEJIL Centroamérica, focusing on international child trafficking cases. Chris speaks fluent Spanish and French.

Chris is a recognized expert on benzene and is the co-chairman of the Benzene Litigation Group with the American Association for Justice. He is licensed to practice law in seven states – Texas, California, Pennsylvania, Washington, Missouri, Oregon, and Ohio – and has a national reputation for managing asbestos and other toxic torts. He represents mesothelioma and toxic injury clients nationwide.

Chris has won many meaningful verdicts under difficult circumstances in asbestos and non-asbestos cases. He specializes in mesothelioma and “impact litigation” cases where a trial specialist is needed to address complex social and legal issues.

With over $400 million in compensation recovered for clients, more than 50 years of fighting for working families across the country, and settlements against over 100 companies that harmed everyday people, the Madeksho Law Firm has a legacy of trust and results — a legacy Chris proudly carries forward.

Chris is a graduate of the nationally-renowned Trial Lawyers College, where he now serves as member of its faculty. He has received the Super Lawyers designation for 2022–2027. He was selected for this honor after an evaluation of many different factors including peer recognition and professional achievement. Super Lawyers is a Thomson Reuters honor awarded to no more than 5% of attorneys in each state.

In addition to his work for cancer and toxic tort victims, Chris routinely takes on pro bono cases for low-income families facing eviction in the Los Angeles area. He also served as trial counsel and adviser in the largest rent strike in Los Angeles County history — another reflection of his deep commitment to justice and community advocacy.

In September 2020, Chris won the very first jury trial in Washington State after covid restrictions took effect. He tried the case under complex “first of its kind” circumstances and won a mesothelioma verdict for $13,426,000 against a joint compound manufacturer. It remains the single plaintiff largest personal injury verdict for in mesothelioma case in Washington State history.

In June 2025, Chris secured a $7.77 million compensatory and $6.6 million punitive damages verdict for the family of a Navy veteran who died from mesothelioma caused by asbestos exposure. The jury’s decision honored the veteran’s service and sent a strong message about accountability for those responsible for exposing workers to toxic substances.

Earlier, in October 2024, Chris helped win a $3.8 million verdict in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, for Harry and Rae Chirdon against Foster Wheeler Corporation. The jury found the company fully liable for Mr. Chirdon’s mesothelioma, awarding $2.3 million in compensatory damages and $1.5 million in punitive damages. The case highlighted the importance of corporate responsibility and workplace safety.
