Horrible Communicator

Mark represented me in a workers compensation case. He was terrible at communicating. I did not know what rights I had. I did not immediately know I could receive up to $10,000 in treatment until my claim was rejected, and lost valuable time. When I finally found out, he was not helpful in letting me... know how to set up such treatments. He did not inform me of deadlines in the case, including when witness or exhibit lists are due, nor did he let me know the basis for the settlement figure he came up with. When I asked him to blind copy me on communication sent to the other side, he refused and then told me not to email him again and to sign a dismissal of attorney form without explaining its significance to me or how that affects his contingency fee. He never sent me a copy of the settlement demand. When I requested it, he said he would send it to me in a reasonable amount of time. Unreal!

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
