David Steven Sarisky

With 20 years of experience, including time in both private law firm practice and in-house company practice, I bring an all-inclusive approach to working with my clients. My practice is motivated by my commitment to provide practical and strategic advice focused on protecting, enforcing, and capitalizing on my client’s intellectual property assets to support their business goals.

Having worked in the legal department of a Fortune 500 company, my approach appreciates the client’s business objectives and financial position, and the need for an appropriately balanced intellectual property strategy. To this end, I work with clients of all sizes to implement strategies that are robust enough to secure competitive advantages, while also being fiscally appropriate. I also counsel start-up companies through intellectual property due diligence exercises to help obtain maximum funding so they can accomplish their product development and business objectives, and elevate their intellectual property strategy to the next level.

I represent clients in a wide range of technologies, including wireless telecommunication, semiconductor fabrication equipment and processes, computer systems and software, and Internet enabled/related applications. However, through my experience working as an in-house senior patent counsel with St. Jude Medical, Inc., a global medical device company, I am uniquely qualified in the medical device industry, particularly with respect to complex implantable medical devices.
