I was charged with petty theft but now they gave me a court date to get my my charge dismissed. What's the catch?

They have up to a year to file a misdemeanor. Your testimony might have convinced judge that you were wrongfully charged. Speak with an attorney . ...

Get an attorney to deal with current matter. The arrest record will show - but so will dismissals . Finish your probation .

The money will not be refunded by bail bondsman . The DA could still file charges .

They are both two separate fines/fees. They do not have to match.

This offense requires a DNA sample. Many courts are requiring DNA samples as a condition to pleas.

Convicted felons in CA cannot possess firearms. Your previous offenses are not felonies in CA. Speak with an OK attorney about possibly getting...
I have 8 days in the AOWP. If I chose to service jail time would I receive less time?

You should get good time credits for the time you serve in jail. You could serve less time than 8 days of work.
