He would have to appear- OR and attorney could appear for him. You could probably pay for the ticket by calling clerk- but the fine would be higher.

You have no idea what the officer is going to testify to. Get an attorney and fight this ticket. He has to personally observe violation.

Most traffic ticket attorneys do not deal with parking tickets.Based on what you said it was not legal for you to stop your vehicle there.

Get an attorney and have them review file. You might be able to file a motion to withdraw plea. Did the public defender represent you for the DUI?
When contesting a Traffic Ticket, is it better to go before the day the Officer has written for plea date, or on the exact day?

It makes no difference when you go as late by as it is by due date. You will be setting trial date.
