Can I serve jail time instead of paying my fines?
You cannot serve jail time for infractions. You might be able to do community service- but that would be up to judge.

Unfortunately your story is not uncommon. You need an attorney!!! You cannot handle all of this yourself.
It sounds like a scam- do not respond
No points for this violation- just a hefty fine!
You must get insurance and bring proof to court. Court will most likely reduce fine. Your license can get suspended if you do not have insurance.
If you plead guilty st arraignment the judge will usually reduce fine. Take traffic school!!!!
For Ventura you definitely need an attorney- and maybe a bail bondsman. An attorney can get your warrant recalled. Your presence at the hearing...
Your case is in collections. You must get it calendared through them. Because you were incarcerated you may be able to avoid some of the penalties....
Definitely try and get your license now. You should also get a traffic ticket attorney to deal with this matter. It could make a major difference.
