He was lucky that the suspended license was not discovered. Postponing a hearing is as effective as in the past.

Get your license before you go to court. Get an extension if necessary. Bring license to court. Was this filed as an infraction or misdemeanor?

As the owner you are responsible for the ticket. Did it say Owner's Responsibilty on the citation?
