Yes it's perfectly legal to do so- but you might be looking for trouble dealing with minors.

You certainly do qualify for a Petition for Dismissal- 1203.4. This will not erase the 484 PC from your record- but it will show dismissed.

It does not apply to attempted murder because by definition attempted murder involves an intent to kill.
