Yes, your son needs an attorney. This is a serious charge and comes with a one year license suspension.

If you got an abstract you can drive-otherwise your license is on hold. You should get a traffic ticket attorney to deal with this.

Plead not guilty and set matter for trial . This should be reduced to an infraction with a lower fine. Ask for community service.
