Waste of time

I had an unsavory experience with this so-called mediator. I was trying to discuss a serious case with him and he had the chutzpah to ask me if I knew what Yelp was. He also kept bringing up the fact that his father was an engineer (as if he had an inferiority complex because he can't do basic math ...or science) and complained to me that other attorneys had been obnoxious to him. Gee, wonder why?

Watch Out!

Todd A. Smith was downright offensive, crude, and unethical during my mediation. It is my understanding that a mediator who meets with any person in private session during a mediation shall not convey directly or indirectly to any other person, any information that was obtained during that private se...ssion without the consent of the disclosing person. Todd kept going back and forth sharing information he said to the opposing parties. He made disgusting, gender-bias comments, failed to maintain neutrality, and throughout the entire process addressed the client and counsel (who sat at a table) standing up while hovering over them, vociferating, pointing fingers, and speaking at (rather than to) them. I pity anyone who has to work with him in any capacity. He is so full of himself and looks down on anyone he erroneously assumes to be below him or someone he's clearly threatened by. A real pathetic, poor excuse of a man.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
