EAD would serve no purpose to a person residing in India.

I am on L1B visa now. Expiring in june with maxout. My company told there should be 6 month period before filing L1Aconversion.

Consult with your company attorney or outside counsel if his answer makes no sense to you, as it does to me.

If you are referring to an EB-1 Petition s a multinational executive or manager, you could start at any time, provided you meet the requirements.

If the company does not file for a change of status for you, it appears that you will have to depart the US in June.

You would need to try and apply for an SB-1 visa. Consult with an immigration attorney.

If you use any public means-tested benefits, the Government may seek reimbursement from your sponsor.
