Usually the receipt and associate paperwork is enough to show the BIA.

Your sister may file a petition for you, which is not that expensive of a process. Waiting for visa availability, however, could take a long time.

This depends on the nature of the conviction. Simple battery is generally not a crime involving moral turpitude.
