It is possible, unless you would be eligible for 6 full years of H-1B status starting now; and other factors.

Generally, a visa is immediately available if the petitioning parent is a USC, where there is a wait of several months if a green card holder.

if your spouse becomes a US Citizen, it will be possible to adjust status without departing the US, even though you have overstayed your visa.

The 3 years runs from the date you were admitted as a resident, not the date of marriage.

Your wife could file for change of status in advance of the first date on which your H-1B status will be effective and indicate the requested...
