If employed under a U visa, is it possible for the employer to file a green card? Can an employer adjust status from U to H1B?

Yes, it is possible to travel after a grant of U visa status. You can also file for a green card after 3 years. Consult with an attorney.

You would need to reopen and rescind the removal order to try and adjust your status in the US. Consult with an immigration attorney.
