These are serious accusations to make anonymously. First, Mercado Law Firm NEVER “guarantees” any Immigration Court case can be won. The Flat Fee Agreement clearly states that we cannot “guarantee” the outcome of your case whether the matter is before the Immigration Court, USCIS or NVC. Your review leads us to believe you were in immigration proceedings before EOIR, and that we filed a Motion to Withdraw with the Immigration Court based on your abandonment of the case. Let me begin by saying that for an Immigration Judge to grant a Motion to Withdraw it is extremely difficult and rare. Evidently, the Immigration Judge in your matter agreed that we had established good cause and proved that you, indeed, abandoned your case because you failed to cooperate with our office’s numerous attempts to contact you to prepare for the upcoming trial (not due to language issues as you allege in your fake review; I can say this because ALL of our Motions to Withdraw are based on abandonment and lack of cooperation on the part of the client). We assume your case was/is set for trial because it is our office's policy to terminate/withdraw from cases where the client has failed to cooperate and abandoned the matter which is set for trial. This clause is enumerated in the Flat Fee Agreement signed by all clients at the time of retaining the firm as cause for withdrawing our representation. With respect to the Employment Authorization, our firm prides itself on completing all work on all files and has systems in place to ensure that tasks do not fall through the cracks. While USCIS has taken several months to mail the Notices of Action regarding employment authorization requests, it does not mean that the firm failed to prepare and submit the same. It is likely that we received notices about the employment authorization that was, indeed, submitted on your behalf (as all EAD requests on all files are always submitted) but due to your failure to contact our office despite numerous attempts to reach you, you were not aware of the outcome of the employment authorization request. Mercado Law Firm does incredible work for its clients and charges reasonable fees. This statement is verified by the fact that our firm had a 5.0 rating for many years until you (and possibly your aunt/uncle/uncles) published frivolous and fake review(s). Despite these two false reviews, our rating has teetered between a 4.8 or 4.9! It is unfortunate that you had to retain another firm and pay additional fees. Perhaps this is why you published an anonymous fake review because you feel disgruntled that the Mercado Law Firm had the audacity to withdraw from the case when you failed to cooperate and abandoned your case. But that is the price you pay when you fail to cooperate with your attorneys who are working their hardest to prepare your case for trial.

No Immigration Experience - No tiene experiencia para casos de migracion
Ms. Mercado, has been unresponsive and canceled our case without notification, using false information. Ms. Mercado is very quick to make a payment plan and collect the money, but does not follow thru. We paid her a lot of money, (about 15K) to get my husband's green card. She did the first proces...
On August 22, 2023, you wrote this review on Google and I responded the same day. On the 22nd, if you had any doubts about what actually happened, your uncertainty was responded to and more importantly my response demonstrated that I have created healthy boundaries with you and your family. Two days later, you posted this review (which in my opinion, and, is the belief of the new clients that reached out to me following your Google post) shows you are posting bad reviews in bad faith and being vindictive. The unfortunate part is that you still have not understood that it is YOU that is hurting your husband's immigration case; or maybe that IS your plan. If your husband hurt you, it has nothing to do with the Mercado Law Firm, and I respectfully request that you focus your wrath on him. Mercado Law Firm's response to your Google review on August 22, 2022 is posted here: "While we are unable to disclose confidential information about your husband’s case, we can respond to your false accusations. First, our firm did not charge $15,000.00 for legal representation. We did not charge even half of that in legal fees. The “second” process, you discuss in your review was being done on a pro bono basis as our firm handles approximately four pro bono matters per year. Second, throughout the representation, our office has been in communication with you & your husband about his case. At least the case notes indicate this to be true. As far as “follow-through,” you know (because we met & review the applications) that the matter was ready for filing. However, when you called our office & told us what happened between you & your husband, a conflict of interest arose. This was explained to you. We understand that you wanted us to continue the representation but doing so, in our opinion, would jeopardize our license. To be certain we could no longer represent your husband or you, we contacted the State Bar of California Ethics Committee & were told we MUST withdraw our representation immediately & could not communicate with either of you again as it could create an attorney/client relationship. Again, while we are unable to disclose confidential information about your niece’s case, we can respond to your false accusations. As you are aware because we discussed the following, when I appeared at your niece’s & her son’s Master Hearing, all of the documents were filed & an Individual (AKA trial) Hearing was scheduled. I never heard from her or you since the Master Hearing despite many attempts to reach her to prepare for trial. The Immigration Judge agreed that we made enough efforts & granted our Motion to Withdraw. She was provided with a letter explaining what happened together with other documents to help her find new counsel. We are not sure why you believe we do not have immigration experience or knowledge. We pride ourselves in explaining the process thoroughly to all of our clients & did the same with you (as the authorized person to speak to), several times throughout your husband & niece’s representations. We are sorry the attorney/client relationship did not work out with your husband & niece but there are many immigration attorneys in Southern California that are competent to handle their immigration matter."
