The lawsuit alleged that the City's enforcement of three city ordinances mandating locked-storage of firearms, banning ce ... rtain ammunition sales, and prohibiting firearm discharges without a self-defense exception unduly burdens the right to self-defense. The case successfully compelled the City to amend its discharge ban - a law that had been in place for some 73 years - to allow for discharges in lawful self-defense and other circumstances allowed for under state and federal law.
