John Michael McGowan

John McGowan is a partner at Lane & McGowan, LLP. Mr. McGowan has a Bachelor of Arts degree (2001) from California State University, Long Beach. He obtained his Juris Doctorate degree (2004) from UCLA School of Law.

Mr. McGowan was admitted to the California State Bar in 2004. He is also a member (inactive) of the Arizona State Bar and the Idaho State Bar. Mr. McGowan began his legal career at Monteleone & McCrory, LLP before establishing Lane & McGowan, LLP.

Mr. McGowan has represented individuals and companies in private, business, contract, and real estate disputes throughout his career. His practice focuses on general business litigation with a construction law emphasis, including the representation of prime contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and owners in matters relating to the construction of roads, schools, bridges, commercial buildings, and residential property.

Mr. McGowan has litigated cases involving breach of contract, mechanic’s liens, payment/performance bonds, construction delays, differing site conditions, construction/design defects, alter ego allegations, and economic interference. His experience includes state and federal court lawsuits as well as arbitration. Mr. McGowan has experience in every aspect of litigation including jury trial and argument before the court of appeal.
