Very unprofessional in my opinion! My soon to be ex-husband suggested we use Ms. Goodman because she was a "family friend". My ex and I were (and still are) on very amicable terms, so I took his recommendation without any reservation. Looking back, even though we signed a document stating that she ...would be representing us both as an impartial party/Mediator, I feel as though through the entire process, she actually did favor my ex-husband, kept in contact with him more frequently, and returned his calls, emails, texts in a very timely manner, whereas my correspondences with her left me hanging for days or week at a time. I have been following the progress (or lack thereof) of my case on the County website to keep myself informed since she has not. She originally filed my Petition July of 2011 at which time I paid her the court filing fees. at this time June 2012, my ex-husband's paperwork has finally showed up as filed on the County website and she is just now asking my ex for his filing fee. So almost one full year later (when I should have been divorced in 6 months and 1 day), we are possibly nearing finalizing our divorce. Ms. Goodman claims that the reason for the delay was due to cutbacks at the Court and our case simply wasn't a priority. I can de-bunk this statement by saying that I have a close friend who also filed (with use of a Mediator) with the same County as us, and his divorce was final in 6 mos and 1 day. My last correspondence with Ms. Goodman via email more than 24 hours ago, with no reply from her as of yet. Her most recent communication was with my ex-husband last week via text message stating "Congratulations! You are officially divorced!". However, the Court website does not reflect her statement and neither of us have received a Court Order issuing this Judgement. At a time in my life when I was going through a very difficult situation, her behavior and work ethic was less than professional and actually unacceptable in my opinion.
