If you think you might have to sue someone, you're already feeling anxious - you could be embarking on a fight that could potentially stretch years into the future. It's already intimidating and stressful. What you need in such a situation is a law firm with hefty, specific experience that you trust..., with whom you can really communicate, and one who really has your back. I was one of two plaintiffs in a landlord-tenant suit complicated by mold exposure and realized quickly that lawyers are not all cut from the same cloth, and finding the right one for both you and your case is literally half the battle. Due diligence got me only so far as I went through three seemingly great law firms before finding Kermani LLP right here on yelp. They were fantastic. The first law firm did not communicate at all, the second had a distinctly sketchy history on the Cali state bar website and the third lost patience with our admittedly jittery questions. By the time we found Kermani LLP it was 9 months later and whilst we knew we had good case, we had lost confidence in how to really find a firm whose professed professionalism went beyond the gloss of the initial consult. Our fears were assuaged by Kermani LLP who were exemplary in the two years we worked together. The first communication they sent out to our landlord was so comprehensive it made me air punch, making a half-baked previous attempt from another lawyer look like something from Trump Draws Twitter. Working with them assuaged our fears, and was an eye-opening experience for me in particular. They are trial lawyers who know how to set you up from the start to win. Their experience is robust, their approach is forensic and they embody the high ideals the law is based upon. We mainly worked with Mr Hani Ganji, who was protective, communicative and answered any questions we had kindly and with competence at all times. He also made a special effort to make sure we felt comfortable with each stage of proceedings regardless of three different time zones. We were not billable hour clients, as Kermani LLP took our case on a no-win-no-fee basis, but we never felt anything less than priority. Hani allowed for time to talk during his lunch hour, made special trips to be in person with us for key stages and navigated all the issues that are thrown up in a suit with sensitivity, but also the sort of whip-smart, super-fast, futuristic-logic brain that left both plaintiffs wondering if he might secretly be a jedi. I would not want to be opposing counsel in a case they have sunk their teeth into. On the Kermani LLP website there is a landing image which showcases all their attourneys and we seriously considered photoshopping a superhero cape onto each of them as part of their thank you present, as we successfully won our suit and settled with our landlord before having to go to trial. We won an amount which I do not think we could have scored with another firm. We have referred others to Kermani LLP since as I cannot recommend them more highly. In this arena, a nuanced, detailed recommendation from extended personal experience is everything.
