Defendant

Kacey put my mind at ease. I had never been accused of anything before and did not know how to navigate the process. She walked me through each step and explained what, realistically, to expect in either outcome. My case was dismissed before even going to court as Kacey was able to explain the incide...nt from my POV to the prosecutor as soon as the report reached her desk. Kacey was very professional and also relatable; a mom also. She was accessible and friendly. She worked expeditiously which allowed me to save money. She made an otherwise terrifying experience, peaceful.

Outstanding Criminal Defense Attorney

Kacey is the epitome of what you want from a defense attorney. Through a not so positive experience with prior counsel, I learned a very important lesson. That lesson is to interview several defense attorneys even though you feel like there is no time and your back is against the wall. Choosing the... right defense attorney makes all the difference. It makes all the difference in a few aspects, the first is that a defense attorney should not only be intelligent, experienced, confident and highly rated but they should be genuine and truly have your best interests in mind as well. Kacey is an intelligent, respected, hard working, experienced defense counsel. However, these aren't even her best qualities. Kacey's best qualities include her genuineness, honesty, integrity and passion. Kacey truly cares about you, her client, and doesn't just see $. Kacey through one of the most challenging parts of my life showed such genuine concern for me and my family. These qualities coupled with her skills as a defense attorney separate her from the pack. Kacey, in this difficult case involving numerous misdemeanors, navigated a very difficult prosecutorial agency while at the same time calming my anxiety as this all unfolded. Kacey prepared me for trial, prepared herself for trial and counseled me about what to expect every step of the way. Kacey has such a good bedside manner with people and made me feel calm despite the surrounding storm. This quality of hers helped me deal with all the stress and anxiety of going through a criminal trial. In the end and through Kacey's hard work and passion, she not only connected well with the Jury but he made sure that justice was served and that all the false allegations and charges were brought to light. Kacey, through a successful Jury trial, had all charges result in either an acquittal or dismissal. I can't say enough positive things about Kacey and for anyone reading this just know that Kacey is truly good people and I would give her more than 5 stars if I could.

Los Angeles criminal cases with Federal aspect.

I hired Kacey to handle my case in the Los Angeles criminal court system, I feel very fortunate to have had her as my attorney. She instantly developed a positive rapport with the prosecuting attorney and she was always readily available for either telephonic or personal meetings. My case lasted for... almost a year and she never had to substitute another attorney for her appearance, although I liked and felt comfortable with all the other attorneys in her firm. Kacey was always very prompt for court hearings, she came prepared and all issues were handled prior to the appearance. She was very easy to discuss all aspects of my case and he knowledge of my options was very complete. Kacey met me to handle my meeting at the police station she had a very calming influence on me. My case had some Federal overtones and those aspects didn’t cause me any concern as she was well versed in that area as well. I consulted Kacey on some of the issues involved with my probation as well. She researched and gave great advice on those issues as well, it feels great to know I have an expert in my corner to help me and be there in my time of need. I would recommend Kacey to anyone.

The Lawyer you Want

Best lawyer ever! A strong confident woman with a sassy attitude that had the D.A. in my case literally saying "I hope to never see you in court again!" Im telling you Katherine McBroom is the lawyer you want. I'm so glad I hired her.

Horrible Experience

Hired Kasey for a Federal post conviction matter. Once she got the retainer, she disappeared for over a month (despite her telling me she had the time to quickly handle my small matter). Once she finally started working the case, she got news the AUSA would oppose what I wanted, and essentially gave ...up vs. acting as my advocate, thus fighting the Gov't. Then, it took weeks to get the invoices, and even more time to get the balance of my retainer from her trust account. To my surprise, the check she issued to me from her trust account BOUNCED for NSF. The rest of this horrible experience is being sent to the State Bar for resolution. I could have gotten better service from the PD or a Panel attorney.

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
