This attorney was unfortunately hired my insurance carrier. I would NEVER have hired her. It was a construction lawsuit with multiple claims and some included jobs we did not even work on, or services we did not provide. I kept asking her about getting those dismissed because there was only 2 clai...ms that we could have been liable for and we had substantial documentation to show we were not the responsible party, the general contractor was. She came to my residence to interview my husband and I, and to pick up all documentation. Said we had great proof and wanted to know if we wanted to settle just to get rid of it. I said ABSOLUTELY NOT. She assured us that even though the insurance company was paying our bill she was OUR attorney. I never heard from her after that for many months even though I emailed and called her on several occasions. She finally called me back to say she settled the case and that we had to now pay the deductible. Said the insurance company didn't say we were at fault but it was cheaper for them to settle than fight it. We had no say so and were not told until months after the fact. This may be allowed legally but I feel it is EXTREMELY unethical. Can't believe that firms will hire people like this. Guess it's all about the money you bring in for the firm and not making clients happy.
