I have handled many cases like this and you should obtain counsel first. You might even want to consult with the alternative public defender.

I sincerely doubt this as the costs for an appeal and the time it takes most attorneys would not want to work on that basis

Every request could backfire and you should take this up with your social worker. You do not want a welfare fraud problem.

If you are receiving aid and then start receiving other support you must report it to your social worker and they will adjust the aid accordingly.
