I interviewed over 10 different attorneys to try and help my mom resolve a situation where she was in contract selling her house but the buyer's weren't performing..., breached the contract and were unreachable even after being sent a formal Notice to Perform multiple times and a Demand to Close escrow. She had no choice but to cancel the contract. Then, all of the sudden the buyers resurface and this time with an attorney trying to make up bogus claims against my mom. What should have been a simple, standard and smooth real estate transaction suddenly became a substantial headache with high stake risks involved. Consultation after consultation with multiple different attorneys only made this situation that much more frustrating when all were saying different things, weren't very confident in their knowledge or approach and still wanted paid exceptionally high retainers. It was seriously remarkable that he was able to resolve this painstaking situation in just 1 day and at an extremely reasonable cost when we had been battling with it for months. Unfortunately, in my lifetime I have had to deal with multiple different attorneys spending upwards of 100k total for those subpar services. While I ultimately succeeded, it cost me, a lot, both financially and emotionally. Not once have I ever received any of a retainer back from an attorney ... until now.
