Gail Judith Higgins

Due to the incompetence of Ms. Higgins, The other petitioners and I not only lost our involuntary bankruptcy case, but were found to have filed it in bad faith. This resulted in a hearing to award fees and damages to the opposing party which Ms. Higgins failed to show up at or even inform us about (...the motion or the hearing). The result was an judgement against us for $85,000, half of which was punitive. The first indication that any of this took place was when every last dime was removed without warning via a levy from every one of our bank accounts. In addition, liens for the remainder were placed on our homes, disrupting a critical refinance effort, significantly damaging our credit and putting us in a very precarious financial position.
