Teresa Ann Beyers

I hired Teresa Beyers for a straightforward custody and support case over four and a half months ago, and she has accomplished nothing. Despite my repeated calls and inquiries, she continuously stalled for time and began to contradict her initial confident statements. Her behavior is dishonest and de...ceitful. She has collected substantial fees under false pretenses. Research online, and you will find numerous accounts of her fraudulent practices. Teresa Beyers was quick to collect her payment but has not done any work on my case. I am now in the process of retaining a new lawyer, but Teresa refuses to transfer my documents to the new attorney or refund my money, falsely claiming extensive work on the case without providing any evidence. This woman is unprofessional, unscrupulous, and a scam artist. Avoid her services at all costs.

So here is my experience, just the facts. First consultation with my mom, first red flag her office is a 9x10 room where she rents from a firm that rents room offices out. This picture is not her office. When we met with her we provided her with professional copied originals she took them. Never as...ked the front office to make a copy of the paperwork we gave her. (our mistake, we should of not got so caught up in talking that we did not take notice till after we left thinking we could trust her in taking care of them) Anyway, we came with specific questions to see how knowledgeable she was in a somewhat complicated situation. She had us convinced 3 hours later after her responses that she was going to be the right attorney ( 45 min total talking with us was about other cases and her family it was in increments). Well she did not spend the time in telling us the process of what she was going to do first in filing or work on or even time frame. (1st $5,000 retainer) I made another appt with Mrs. Beyers a week later after our 1st consult. I needed to know what was the process of what she was going to do write etc... So I asked her via email if we could regroup for another meeting with my mom 2nd red flag When we met again with Mrs. Beyer she tells me "I am almost finished with the RFOs" I would need another $5,000. It did not dawn on me till I got home that this second consult did not settle right another 3 hr later consult, now a 40min talk about her personal family and pets etc.. in increment totals and other cases of which we got charged for the hours both times. Anyway, I realized did I just give her $5,000 without being given an invoice for work already done I was not even explained what progress my case was already at my mom is a witness to this. Anyway, I texted, emailed, and called spoke to her husband I believe with the urgency in my voice I left her a message with for Mrs. Beyers not to do anything else on my case to please call me. When she finally called 7 hours later that late evening. I explained to her my apprehension she told me I would get an invoice in the morning. I received an invoice the next day Saturday afternoon after 1:30 along with other paperwork she went ahead and completed so that she could justify the charges she was about to try and charge me after I just released her as my attorney. I guess she thought I was not smart enough to figure out what she was doing. So now I am to believe that she had been a busy bee for a week doing all the other filings other than the RFO that she was telling me she was almost done with when she asked for the extra $5,000. The paperwork that she even sent me did not even have words that I said and these documents are supposed to be submitted on my behalf to the court?? What ever happened to the Oath I swore to? Is she now going to try and charge me for revisions once I point it to her attention. It is not right? I should of checked her reviews with yelp 2.5 stars and other websites. I asked Mrs. Beyers when I could pick up our original paperwork. Mrs. Beyers emailed me I could pick up the docs in two days. Well because I did not stand there with her and open up the sealed envelope she gave me and just thanked her and left, I did not notice that she purposely sent copies of professional copies that were given to her. Her copies were out of order upside down. Its obvious it was intentional. Now I am still having problems with getting her to give me all the paperwork back of our originals. Mrs. Beyers claims she gave it all but my mom and I know she did not they are crucial to our case and I am in the process of going through the State Bar for Assistance but I have to fill out paperwork. I believe she was unprofessional that she had done things in this manner because I released her as my representation. If there is anything that is important here. Do your research on the attorney before you make the mistake I did.
