Steven Earl Young

Steven E. Young's practice focuses on general business, entertainment, intellectual property and real estate litigation.  Mr. Young has conducted many jury and non-jury trials in both State and Federal Courts and arbitrations, and has appeared numerous times representing clients in both State and Federal Appellate Courts.

Mr. Young has extensive experience in entertainment and intellectual property transactional matters.  Additionally, he has significant experience in all aspects of licensing (including, but not limited to design, manufacturing, marketing, distribution and sales) for products such as fashion items, furniture, automotive performance products, luxury brand liquor and other lifestyle products, involving, among other things, television and motion picture characters, sports teams and personalities as well as original works of art.  His practice incorporates all aspects of motion picture and television production, marketing, distribution and publicity.  For approximately 15 years, Mr. Young has been outside general counsel for a television production company, handling every aspect of their legal affairs with regard to the production of approximately 30 episodic shows.  His 41 years of experience in litigating across these areas has given him a unique understanding of the underlying business aspects of these types of matters.

Mr. Young also has broad and significant experience in nearly all aspects of real estate litigation, including, but not limited to: title; escrow; broker; boundary (including easement) disputes; lateral and subjacent support disputes; purchase and sale contract disputes; construction defects and condemnation actions.  He has been involved in many trials and arbitrations involving these issues, and has represented clients ranging from individuals to publicly traded companies in these types of matters.  Mr. Young has presented to such groups and organizations as the International Conference of Shopping Centers, the Escrow Institute, various real estate brokerages, and appeared numerous times as a panelist for continuing legal education programs, including the prestigious Georgetown University Continuing Legal Education program.

Mr. Young has authored articles for the American Bar Association, has been a Judge Pro Tem in the Los Angeles Superior Court, and has received numerous accolades in the Los Angeles Daily Journal and Metropolitan News.
