Mitra Sayena Ahouraian

I've been an entertainment industry professional in Los Angeles for 15 years. Previously, I was repped by a large, well-known entertainment law firm. But I never felt like I was getting much more there than their fancy name on the letterhead. There were times in the past when I felt like I knew the i...ns and outs of the WGA MBA better than my attorney did. That's not a feeling that inspires confidence. Cut to Ms. Ahouraian... Recently, I was in need of a new attorney to take care of an option/purchase agreement. I asked a great attorney friend of mine for a recommendation (he only does litigation) and he referred me to Mitra Ahouraian. I'm very thankful that he did. Unlike some clients, I really read my contracts. I ask questions. I have opinions. Honestly, part of me probably wishes I'd been an attorney, but I settled for the artistic (and lower paid) life of a writer/producer. Bottom line: I like to think I know when an attorney is really smart and putting in an effort, and when they're just phoning it in (or handing the work off to an underling). Mitra is everything I want in an attorney. She's smart, reasonably fast on turnaround (without rushing it), and available for communication; all while projecting professionalism at every step (always a plus when the other side is looking for any sign of weakness). I've just finished a second deal with her and my impression remains the same (if not more so). Barring anything unforeseen, I feel like I've now found an attorney I can stick with the rest of my career. For those of you who are not fortunate enough to get a personal referral as I was, let this be your reassurance.
