Franklin Devin Kang

Mr. Kang’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation and counseling for Korea-based and other Asia-based clients, including electronics and life science companies. He has particular expertise in patent litigation before U.S. federal courts and the International Trade Commission, as well as other intellectual property disputes and complex international arbitration matters.

Mr. Kang heads McGuireWoods’ Korea practice and serves as a relationship partner and counselor to various Korea-based clients in vital cross-border litigation and transactional matters. Mr. Kang is a native Korean speaker and has represented Korean clients in dozens of depositions, hearings, trials and other court or arbitral proceedings, as well as negotiations, transactions and investigations.

Mr. Kang has been honored repeatedly as a Super Lawyer in the field of intellectual property litigation. He has served as a board member of the Los Angeles Intellectual Property Law Association (LAIPLA) and as a co-chair of numerous patent litigation subcommittees of the American Bar Association Section of Intellectual Property Law (ABA-IPL). He has also been honored as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and has been a member of the Michel Intellectual Property American Inn of Court, International Association of Korean Lawyers (IAKL), Korean American Bar Association (KABA) and the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA).
