Not a good lawyer

Brandon Blake has got to rank as one of the worst lawyers I have ever come into contact with. I had a phone call with him and when I started to explain my idea for a show he goes "I know all the big boys and there aren't any production companies or networks that will go for what you're saying". To wh...ich I replied "ANY?" He goes "Any" very matter of factly. I then say "I'm sorry, I have a directory of producers here right in front of me that lists all the names of production companies and networks along with what they're looking for; you mean to tell me that if we were to sit down and go through the list NONE OF THEM would go for it?" He then starts in "You're asking me for a guarantee"..I'm like "No no in life there are no guarantees". He couldn't give me straight answer because he knew that I was right. Then he wanted me to do a "development" contracts for $5,000 a month. No thank you, you claimed you couldn't give me a guarantee so why should I pay you $5,000 when you're not even going to give me an idea of the outcome you're going to get? To all these lawyers and anybody else reading this who thinks or says "It's so competitive" my response is: if you're a lawyer, producer, agent, executive or any other so called hot shot it goes for you too! Not just talent so before you think "talent is a dime a dozen" so are lawyers and everybody else! Steven Spielberg as genius as he is, as of this writing is 75 years old. Martin Scorcese is 79. Brad Pitt is 59 so is Tom Cruise. I rest my case.

Do Not Hire

I worked with Brandon over the course of 5 months and paid his office over $13,500. During this time he claimed he could get my project greenlit by a major network and production company - this in no way, shape or form happened. Not even close. Though he would say things like he was “doing ...his best” - if this were in any way true - his “best” is god-awful. In addition - he is rude, unprofessional, and has an “icky” unlikeable personality. As you may be able to gather from his countless odd “hollywood-esq” photos and the fact that he only seems to hire people with an english accent so that his law firm appears to be “sophisticated” - this person is a clinical narcissist. I detected the narcissism personality traits early on in working with him - but I’ve worked with narcissists before and thought “well if he does the job, then maybe he will still do what he says he will do” Unfortunately - he does not do what he says he’s going to do - his whole “Hollywood Attorney” schtick is a total ruse - this guy is a total hack. Not to mention a bad person. Zero morals or credibility. Brandon Blake is god-awful with his job and doesn’t do the job he is paid to do. If you work with Brandon I guarantee you he will use gas lighting techniques on you. He will continuously not do the job he is being paid to do. And when you have to continuously email and call in order to follow up and make sure he does do his job he will say you are “harassing” him. Hahahahahahahaha Alrighty then. Do not work with Brandon Blake under any circumstances. I repeat: Do Not Work With Brandon Blake Under Any Circumstances - You Will Regret It. PS - where is Wang? The office is called Blake & Wang but where are the pictures of “Want” . Knowing Brandon’s personality he made this person up in order to make his one-person law office seem important.

Highly skilled service, Value for money!

The TV series I’m producing is an original thriller series with a growing fan base. To keep viewers guessing, we make all cast and crew sign a NDA prior to filming which explicitly states that no part of the plot must be revealed prior to the broadcast. Imagine my surprise when the internet leaked so...me plot twists allegedly from one of the writers. She claimed that she did not reveal anything - she only alluded to some things to which the internet made its guesses. Also, since she partly made the plot, it was partly hers to share. I knew that this needed to be nipped in the bud legally. Good thing I have Blake and Wang on the ready. Their attorneys read the contract cover to cover and ensured that the matter would be handled quickly and discreetly. We fixed the internal issue and changed writers with none the wiser.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
