I had no money to hire a lawyer when my employer shorted my hours, falsified my overtime and didn't pay me fairly for travel mileage, so I went on a legal matching website. I approached this attorney with a serious and complex employment case, hoping to find someone professional and supportive. Unfortunately, the experience I had was the opposite. Our initial call lasted less than five minutes. I was constantly interrupted, rushed, and not allowed to explain the cont...ext of my situation. At one point, I was told — quite shockingly — to read my entire complaint out loud on the phone, even though it had already been written in an email. When I pushed back and explained that it wasn’t something I could just “read aloud,” I was told to “just say one word” to explain why this happened to me. That kind of approach is not only dismissive, it’s insulting to someone going through a long, difficult experience. After that call, I provided full documentation and a clear timeline of events. I also sent my availability for a follow-up, but no call was made during the times I shared. Instead, the attorney attempted to call when I had already said I wouldn’t be available. It felt like I had to chase for basic communication, and yet nothing came of it. To this day, there’s no indication that my documents were even reviewed. This is not someone I would trust with a serious legal matter. If you’re looking for someone who will actually listen, show up, and handle your case with the care and depth it deserves, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
