I'm an appellate attorney. My unique background helps me win post-trial motions, writs, and appeals for clients ranging from banks, to insurers, to developers, to other businesses and individuals, in all areas of civil litigation.

Before joining GMSR, I clerked for Judge Paul J. Watford at the Ninth Circuit, where I honed my writing skills and saw up close how judges decide cases. My writing about the law has appeared in Law360, The Business Lawyer, UCLA Law Review, and UCLA’s Journal of Law and Technology. I graduated first in the class from the UCLA School of Law.

But before I became a lawyer, I was a professor of music theory, most recently, on a tenure track at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Indeed, I have yet to encounter a legal problem more daunting than music theory at its most arcane.
