Jonathan Stephen Landis

Jonathan Landis is Corporate Counsel at ADLI Law Group.

Jonathan provides outside general counsel legal advice and advocacy to small-to-medium-sized businesses, emerging companies, startups, and entrepreneurs in highly regulated industries, including cannabis and industrial hemp. He assists clients with company formation, mergers and acquisitions, employment law, contracts drafting and review, negotiations, real estate, intellectual property, licensing, and all aspects of regulatory compliance.

For cannabis industry clients, his work initially focused on advising clients during the transition from the unlicensed to the licensed cannabis market in California. Currently, he advises businesses on all aspects of compliance, starting, and growing their business. Jonathan’s prior experience included serving as the legal counsel for the state court of Kosrae in the Federated States of Micronesia, an independent nation in the Pacific region. His previous legal work also includes both business litigation and corporate transactional law experience and regulatory compliance work.

Jonathan graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, where he was the co-editor in chief of the Journal of International Law and Foreign Affairs and attended UCLA for his undergraduate studies. Jonathan is active in advocacy work, including service on the board of nonprofit and pro bono services for veterans’ legal aid organizations, free-speech advocacy, and works with numerous community and advocacy groups.

Jonathan is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area and enjoys the outdoors, skiing, hiking, snorkeling, involvement in public affairs, and the occasional road trip.
