Excellent & Aggressive As Needed

Over the past 35 years, Mr. Fuchs has demonstrated to be one of the few attorneys I have dealt with that is truly honest and trustworthy. His knowledge in law is exceptional and his wit is helpful even in the courtroom. Mr. Fuchs and I have won two major jury cases together against very large attorne...y firms. I have witnessed John's experience in legal complaints, responses, court motions and witness examinations. His skill in depositions is better than any movie skit a Hollywood writer could create. Being a Plaintiff in LA Superior Court and a Defendant in San Diego Federal court against the largest firm in SD, John beat up the two attorneys winning by unanimous jury decision and 11-1 in LA case. John helped me defeat a preferred shareholder attempts to take over my large business. If you wish more details please talk to John and get my number I will give greater in depth detail as to the ability and skills of Mr. Fuchs in court and in many other legal issues relating to business matters and corporate matters.

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2013.

Suspension with Conditions issued in FL, 2013

updated on 12/30/2021

This means an attorney lost his or her license to practice law for a period of time. The attorney typically returns to practicing law when the suspension expires.

John’s comment:

“I stopped practicing law in Florida in 1988, but the Florida Bar imposed discipline based on the actions of the California Bar.”

Discipline with Actual Suspension issued in CA, 2011

updated on 12/30/2021

This sanction means the attorney lost his or her license to practice law for a period of time. The attorney typically returns to practicing law when the suspension expires.

John’s comment:

“While litigating an eight-year bankruptcy action, I wrote a letter to the Judge in 2008, but failed to copy opposing counsel. The Judge took offense and reported me to the State Bar, which imposed discipline for an "ex parte communication" with a Judge. I learned years ago that the State Bar only imposes discipline on sole practitioners and small firms, but never on large firms. It is too expensive to fight the State Bar, so I accepted the discipline more than 10 years ago and moved on.”

Reciprocal - Suspension issued in DC, 2008

updated on 12/30/2021

This means that the attorney's misconduct in another state, or jurisdiction, also violated the rules for practicing law in District of Columbia Bar.

John’s comment:

“I never practiced law in the District of Columbia but joined the Bar at the request of a client who lived there. My membership expired more than 30 years ago, but the DC Bar, like the Florida Bar, imposed reciprocal discipline based on the California State Bar matters.”

Suspension with Conditions issued in FL, 2007

updated on 12/30/2021

This means an attorney lost his or her license to practice law for a period of time. The attorney typically returns to practicing law when the suspension expires.

John’s comment:

“Again, I stopped practicing law in Florida in 1988, after obtaining the recovery of two off-shore racing boats that had been unlawfully seized by Mercury Marine in or about 1986. This is yet another silly reciprocal discipline based on a California State Bar matter.”

Reciprocal - Suspension issued in DC, 2006

updated on 12/30/2021

This means that the attorney's misconduct in another state, or jurisdiction, also violated the rules for practicing law in District of Columbia Bar.

John’s comment:

“Again, this was reciprocal discipline based on a California State Bar matter.”

Discipline with Actual Suspension issued in CA, 2006

updated on 12/30/2021

This sanction means the attorney lost his or her license to practice law for a period of time. The attorney typically returns to practicing law when the suspension expires.

John’s comment:

“This discipline arose out of a $126,000 settlement we obtained for a husband and wife, each of whom was owed $42,000. By the time of the settlement, they were in a nasty divorce, and the wife turned on me, falsely reporting to the State Bar that I never advised her of the receipt of the settlement, when her husband had advised her of the settlement. I had withheld the funds because she owed legal fees to me, but the State Bar imposed discipline for failing to advise her of the settlement.”

Discipline, Probation; no Actual Suspension issued in CA, 2001

updated on 12/30/2021

This sanction means the attorney had a suspension placed on hold (and ultimately removed) by complying with certain requirements.

John’s comment:

“This matter arose out of a 1993 lawsuit in which we obtained a $700,000 judgment for two gay men who were forced out of their apartment. They refused to pay $191,000 of the fees owed to my firm, so we filed a lawsuit to collect the fees. They complained to the State Bar, and I was disciplined for "maintaining an unjust action." It was completely unwarranted.”
