I was wrongfully accused of selling prescription drugs, a serious accusation that could have sent me to prison for decades and ended my medical career I worked so hard for. The entire ordeal was incredibly scary, like an invisible guillotine hanging over my head that can come down any moment. Though ...it’s my own fault for putting myself in the mess, I was not prepared for how viciously the system treated me. Seeking help with pending charges, I first found out about Rodriguez Law Group by reading online reviews and his blog on the website. After telling Mr. Rodriguez my case, he smiled confidently and comforted me that he has the case under control. He informed me the best case scenario and range of outcomes of my case, which was very reassuring as it ruled out the possibility my life getting destroyed by the false accusations (my case seemed pretty hopeless at the time). There was a calming manner about him. This gave me faith to stop thinking about my life-altering situation and just leave it all to him, while I get back to normal life with my family. The charges were filed as expected. Despite the Torrance district attorney’s lack of evidence, the young prosecutors were aggressive indeed. They asked for exorbitant bail amounts while making outright lies about things I did, but Mr. Rodriguez confidently got the bail knocked down to something minuscule. The prosecution were not reasonable to discussion, therefore the case dragged on for ages. Whereas a less experienced attorney would have agreed to the terrible plea offers I got, Mr. Rodriguez knew we could do better and rejected them. The prosecutors promptly added 3 more felony charges to spite us after rejecting their plea offers, and even argued that I violated bail conditions. It was during the prelim hearing that Mr. Rodriguez aggressively took apart the prosecution’s case. He cross examined the detective and uncovered holes in their case. The judge tossed out 5 charges and pointed out serious issues in the remaining charges. This demoralized the prosecution and was the turning point in my case. The prosecution was getting frustrated and literally yelling and screaming at us to give up the fight. I did not understand their witch hunt against me given there were no victims. Yet my case continued to drag on, and it seemed headed for trial. Good thing Mr. Rodriguez is a trial attorney and therefore knew a trial would favor my side. It was always in our back pocket and we did some preparation. After many back and forth phone calls, he showed the prosecution how the case would play out, put together a mitigation package, and finally got the charges down to a minor misdemeanor charge which can quickly be expunged (which is covered by the original fee). I am so grateful with this result. It’s true we could have kept fighting for an outright win, but it would have been time consuming and costly, and the open case was keeping me unemployed. We need more people like Mr. Rodriguez to protect ordinary citizens against a stacked system. Powerful forces can destroy our lives at any moment and we have no recourse. Unfortunately in our punitive criminal justice system, you need the best defense attorney possible to get justice, or you can go to prison for decades over false accusations. I sincerely believe this to be true. Lesser attorneys would not even know what is possible in a case that looks hopeless, when the charges are very serious, when fragments of evidence appear like indisputable evidence. I recently found myself in need to hire a criminal defense attorney. I searched the internet, and decided on 4 attorneys to check out to see which one I felt was best for me. I chose one of the 4 and had them e-mail me a contract to sign. I filled out the contract, which included payment information.... Then at the last minute, I decided to search the internet again just to confirm my decision before I e-mailed the contract back. This search revealed “The Rodriguez Law Group” with an address in down town Las Angeles. This law group did not show up during my earlier search, so I decided to check out their website. I was impressed with their website, so I called to set up an appointment for a free consultation. I told the receptionist that I was coming from Orange County and could not make it to their off by 4:00PM., Because of the distance and it was Friday afternoon. The receptionist was very nice and polite, and checked with an attorney, then said they could accommodated my needs and set an appointment for me at 6:30PM that night. Upon arriving at their office, I was met by Associate Attorney Nathan H. Soleimani, who introduced himself, then took me into his office. I was a Little nervous and agitated, as I explained my circumstances to Nathan, who calmed me down and reassured me that he was there to help me, and to take all the time I needed to go over my case. After being recommended by a family friend, I decided to schedule an appointment. Entering his downtown LA office, with a beautiful view of the LA night lights, I felt I was entering the set of a Hollywood movie. Although the setting was beautiful, the plot was not.
