Appellate Practice
Jacob Zamora is an appellate attorney focusing on appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (CAVC) and civil appeals in state and federal courts. He has represented clients before the California Court of Appeal, Fourth District, Division One, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Military Service
Prior to serving the people of California as an attorney, Mr. Zamora served his country in the United States Navy. As a Navy aircrewman, he was responsible for coordinating tactical missions on suspected enemy submarines and surface ships. He also supervised and trained flight crew members. Mr. Zamora was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal, the Navy Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Southwest Asia Service Medal for his service during Operation Desert Storm.
Litigation Experience
A former Public Defender, Mr. Zamora has tried serious felony “strike” cases, handled numerous preliminary hearings and motions to suppress, and prepared and argued writs of habeas corpus. He has also litigated complex civil matters—including personal injury, real estate fraud, contract disputes, ADA claims, and intellectual property actions—as well as family law contempt and restraining order proceedings. This broad trial and motion experience gives him a practical, record-driven perspective that he now brings to veterans’ benefits appeals and personal injury cases throughout Northern California.

Total disregard for any rights of a prisoner facing charges. Seemed to be totally uninterested in defending me. No face to face visits and almost zero communication. This was a murder case.
