If you want someone to stand up for your families future, Joel Barber is the Attorney to make that happen.

When I filed for my divorce and all of this divorce talk started I no idea what to do. I started down the path one way and then decided to give Joel Barber a call. Right away Joel Barber, Jessica Barry and Amber Koski got to work to see exactly what my options were throughout a 2 year long divorce... battle. Joel and his team did a great job and getting me organized and they prepared me for each step of the divorce. I was expecting to lose everything and be paying my Ex-Wife for the rest of my life. BUT instead they worked hard to give me another option which worked out amazing for my kids and I. The best thing about the whole deal was they didn't get carried away just blowing money. Huge thank you from my kids and myself to the Barber Law Group. Thank you for helping my family. I would strongly recommend the Barber Law Group if you get yourself in a situation like mine.

Joel and Katie hit a homerun!

Hiring Joel and his team to get me through my divorce was the best decision I could have made. From day one Joel was honest and up front with me on the best and worst outcomes that I could hope for. I appreciated their honesty throughout the proceedings both with me and the approach on my case. COVID... shut down the courts and so we had to wait. My ex and I were able to create our own agreement. Katie took the lead and helped us rework the agreement and finalize it for the courts. Katie was so patient working with us to answer questions and help us come to a final agreement. While signing the papers together in their office, Joel came over to applaud us both for coming to an agreement together without the need for court and additional cost to both of us. I have no doubt that if we would have gone to court Joel would have fought to the end to make sure that I came out on the right end. At every turn Joel and Katie were there to make sure I was protected, and I could not thank them more. I would hire them again without hesitation.

The ONLY attorney you need!!!

Joel Barber and his team are an outstanding group of professionals you definitely want on your side when it comes to divorce and custody disputes! Joel has represented me twice now and I have been completely satisfied with the outcome of both cases. Attorney Ryan McElhinney was quite often my go-t...o contact in Joel's office and he worked very hard behind the scenes meeting with me, planning meetings, consolidating paperwork, emails, photos, text messages, and answering numerous questions and concerns I had along the way. Ryan always got answers for me and eased my mind when Joel was unavailable, reassuring me that Joel would take care of everything and that I didn't need to worry which was always true and never lip service. Joel, Ryan, and Elizabeth delivered a personal service to me. Joel is a family man and he treats his clients like family as well. He is caring, compassionate, dedicated, and extremely knowledgeable. Joel does not make promises he can't keep. He is REAL and very straight forward backing all of his statements with case facts. Joel captivates his audience both in and out of the courtroom. He not only comes from a family of attorneys, but he somehow knows everyone in the business which adds to his many strengths. Joel's confidence, knowledge, and presence during the proceedings proved to be instrumental in my favor. What initially felt like my worst nightmare stepping foot into the courtroom quickly diminished, Joel carried the burden of all my stress walking step by step with me throughout the entire day (several hours!); this was like a walk in the park for Joel, high energy, always a smile, clearly his passion shone through as he put his seasoned skills to work for me. Joel dominates in the courtroom and you do NOT want to be on the receiving end! Although there are always costs invested to retain a great attorney such as Joel, I felt that my needs were met and his firm was invested in me and my family from start to finish! Joel is hands down the best attorney, and the ONLY attorney you will ever need!

"she goes for the jugular"..

is what I heard her being described to me by a co-worker as I read over the frivolous suit brought on by my ex and his lawyer. What?? I had to respond to that garbage?? and yes, sometimes we find ourselves catching the stench of something really sick. How to know a good lawyer from a bad one? Well, ...take advantage of my hindsight, reviews are great for that. I lucked out!! I really did. That "jugular" that was coming after me for money, character defamation, and threatning jail time over literally nothing..after all did not know her job. Writing endless letters and "fee'ing" her clients into financial ruin is about all she did. But this is about Joel Barber, not her. He is so level headed, which is calming. He will tell you when you're in the wrong and why. He is honest, he does not inflate his fee's writing a bunch of letters or delaying the process to get paid longer. She does that. He does not promise you an outcome that is not possible. Whatever he said he would do and would happen, did happen. I have to say, the office cannot be nicer. His team (Elizabeth, Rachael, Nicole, Adriana )is very patient, efficient, friendly, consistent, reliable. I was a newbee at being sued so you can imagine I said odd things. :0) You get out of it what you put into it. As a client you have to stay in charge of your case. Make the phone calls when you dont hear back at the time you think you should. Everyone get's busy. Check up on things, it's your case! and Joel did win my case. Yeah! Back to the jugular now, because it fit's so well: I misunderstood that description. What I ended up observing on court day was that council could not hold her arguments (and if they are based on lies I expect it to be challenging). She did not know her job. I also overheard her wanting to continue the lost case so she could get paid more. I observed her lack of care for her own client that I could not help feeling sorry for my ex just then. So I saw what kind of lawyer would give everyone else in that field a bad rep. She continued arguing loud enough outside court that I could hear her challenging Joel to fight some more. So she could get paid. Thats not Joel's style. He calls a spade a spade, he deals with facts, and my faith in Law had been restored through his experience. I learned that the opposition could and did make up things that are untrue, building wrong associations between facts so they can have a case. A lawyer can make up and inflate anything to appear serious enough warranting a court date. But she may not get away with it. Sadly so, clients leap up lawyers responses that fuel their hate further, perpetuating this process and end up paying for it all, which I guess in hindsight is well deserved. A lawyer has a responsibility to humankind I feel and Joel does step up to the plate when it comes to that. A conflict of interest hovers in that client lawyer relationship if the lawyer inflates facts so she can get paid more. Joel will not fuel your hate, "creating a case" where there is none. He is an ethically sound person. He will take it down to Brass Tax so to speak and tell you what you can expect. He has years of practice. He knows his stuff. He can argue, oh can he argue! That date in court was designed by the opposition to ruin me financially and throw me in jail. It ended up being a highlight of all my day's lived so far. Feeling validated was pretty awesome. To summarize this: Fee's are reasonable. You wont get lied to. It's ok to open up. Your case will not be dragged along or inflated so Joel or others get paid. You get treated respectfully, honestly and depending on your circumstances, may just walk away seeing the silver lining in your cloud. ps, Elizabeth...you are wayy too nice doing what you are doing every day. Much Respect. You are a darling. xo
