Elizabeth Joy Ferrall Bassett

Elizabeth has almost fifteen years of litigation experience and is responsible for the firm’s Nevada litigation matters, including general civil litigation, probate and trust litigation, and family law.  Elizabeth is also responsible for the firm’s appellate practice and is experienced both in civil and criminal appeals from both sides of the bench.

Prior to joining Blanchard Krasner and French, Elizabeth served as a Staff Attorney at the Nevada Supreme Court for more than six years. She interacted with the Supreme Court Justices regarding a wide-range of civil and criminal legal issues before the Court, particularly in the areas of civil procedure, torts, contracts, criminal and real property. This experience exposed her to the behind the bench workings of the Nevada Supreme Court, and Elizabeth has an in-depth knowledge of the procedures of the Court and the standards that apply to appeals, extraordinary writ petitions, and petitions for review. Prior to working at the Court, Elizabeth litigated numerous cases with a private law firm for eight years, representing individuals and business in all phases of litigation. Elizabeth also practiced at an appellate specialty law firm in California, drafting appeals and extraordinary writ petitions for law firms and individual clients.
