Robert P Loftus Jr

Mr. Loftus practices in the areas of estate planning, probate, guardianships, estate and gift taxation, and general civil litigation. Upon completing law school, Mr. Loftus served as the Securities Registration and Licensing Examiner for the Nevada Secretary of State. In that role, Mr. Loftus regulated new securities offerings in Nevada, in addition to reviewing new investment advisor applications. Thereafter, Mr. Loftus completed his judicial clerkship, wherein he observed all stages of litigation, including numerous jury trials. Mr. Loftus has litigated cases and served in a general counsel capacity, advising on employment law matters, corporate governance, and alternative dispute resolution.

Prior to practicing law, Mr. Loftus worked in finance for a prominent investment firm and held multiple FINRA securities licenses. In doing so, Mr. Loftus developed extensive knowledge regarding wealth management and estate planning, which compliments his legal practice.

In addition to his practice at Marquis Aurbach, Mr. Loftus serves as a Captain in the Judge Advocate General's Corps for the United States Army Reserve. As a judge advocate, he has practiced administrative and national security law, and has advised commanders at a division level. In his spare time, Mr. Loftus enjoys camping, fishing, and winter sports with family and friends. He also enjoys learning about emerging technologies and watching a good comedy.
