You need to properly administer the trust. Either go to the attorney who drafted the trust or to another attorney who knows what questions to ask...

Yes, unless there is a beneficiary designation on the account. But it is prudent to get a trust formed since you can obtain better post-mortem...

You don't have to sign it. If you suspect funny business, hire an attoney who does estate litigation (not me - I don't do that).

Unless the account lists you as a beneficiary, you would need to probate it unless it's under a certain dollar amount.

One more thing. If he was married at the time of his death, it would depend whether the songs were community property or separate property.
