Russel Jon Geist

Russel J. Geist is the Director of Fiduciary Operations and BSA Officer with Wealthgate Trust Company. An attorney licensed in Nevada and Texas, Russ focused his practice on trusts and estates since earning his Master of Laws (LL.M) and spent a number of years working for an international bank, and practicing as a trust and estate attorney.

Originally from Alliance, Nebraska, Russ earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. After moving to Las Vegas, Russ earned his Juris Doctorate from the Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Russ continued his legal education by obtaining his Master of Laws degree in Taxation from the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

Prior to joining Wealthgate, Russel was an integral part of two premier Nevada estate planning firms, helping clients with Nevada asset protection and dynasty trusts, advanced estate and gift tax planning techniques, and generational wealth transfer planning. Most recently Russ has led the trust and estate department at a premier regional law firm. Russ' experience litigating contested trusts and probate estates while representing trustees in complex estates and trust administration has informed his skills as a planner and administrator.

In his free time, Russel enjoys outdoor activities with his wife. He and his family particularly enjoy hiking Red Rock Canyon and Mt. Charleston and take camping and fishing trips to connect with each other and with the environment. Russel, a licensed amateur radio operator, also enjoys connecting with other Hams locally and around the world.
