The period starts the day after personal service, so Monday. Holidays count. Thus, your 3-day period ends at 11:59pm on Wednesday Nov. 14, 2012.

Landlords are not allowed to ask for a late fee in the notice to quit. If your contract specifies a late fee, and you were late, then you owe it.
