Not a valid concern unless you have some specific knowledge. Your lawyer works for you not the government.

If you are here in the US, then you can process all the papers here if you meet the minimum requirements., If you are outside the US, your spouse...

The only thing you have is marriage. If its bonafide it can lead to residency. Other than that, nothing generally available.
