Can a person who signed the affadavit of support also be a joint sponsor. My mother who is the sponsor is now retired.

If the person meets the requirements, he/she can be a joint sponsor.

Joint sponsors fill out the same affidavit of support as the principal at the END OF THE PROCESS.
