DIVORCE ATTORNEY DESTROYED MY LIFE, 1st DAY I HIRED HIM !!!

I came to David Mann for a consultation, After being a victim of domestic violence, my then husband was in custody for it, but set to be released & I needed to know my options. I was a stay home mom, for most of our 12 year marriage, I had no access to the money, and we had an 8 year old child. Dav...id Mann Was very confident, very empathetic, and very dedicated to women in my position. He was very forceful and insistant that steps must be done immediately. To protect my interests, and secure the marital assets before my ex is released, and has the chance To hide it. I had no idea what any of it meant but I did know I needed help. I had 4 homes, 4 cars, 2 bank accounts, and a husband due out of jail who would be very angry, and was the only one with access to all of it other than the house I lived in and the car I drove. so I hired David Mann, and left that day feeling like I had an angel on my side. I was told to bring $1150.00 the next day, and papers would be filed to freeze all assets. I had 24 hours to produce money I didn't have, but I borrowed all I could, pawned my wedding ring, and the next day, I began the worst mistake of my life. FIRST, I signed divorce papers that were to file same day but actually don't file for 47 days, which as it turned out, mattered ALOT. Also that next day, my ex was released from jail, the very first thing he did, was come to my home, escorted by police, allowed to get some things ( clothes ) is what I was told, but instead, he took all our files from the desk, all the scan disks ( which matter later ) filled 2 trucks with bedroom stuff, emptied a garage full of tools, car equip, Took cables and fuses and etc off cars in garage, and finally, with me inside the home, he took my vehicle from the driveway as he left. So ultimately, out of 4, that 1st day, meant I had no working vehicle at all. At 6:00 pm that evening, my power, water, gas, and phone all went off. When I called the companies, I was told, he removed me from the accounts and shut them off. Following day, he files emergency custody papers with our TPO judge, stating He wants full custody due to my inability to care, provide, protect and meet the need of our child. He also states I can not even transport the child to school but he can. I called David Mann in a panic, I get " his mother / receptionist " who tells me David is gone, I say it's an emergency I have no power, gas water I NEED HIM TO DO SOMETHING. She hangs up on me, which happens often as time goes on. When David does FINALLY RETURN MY CALL, he's rude, dismissive, and not that confident, empathetic, blah blah, that I hired, I told him my ex filed for custody, He says he's gotta call me back, when I begin Screaming, I HAVE NO UTILILITIES DAVID WHAT DO I DO, he says hold on, his mother comes on and says, David said to come in immediately....... he needs $1150.00 and he'll fix it all. I said I just gave you $1150.00, she said, yeah, that was for filing, this is for starting your case. As I sit in a dark home with no options, I pawn more things, get there, give $1150.00 and wait for everything to be fine. I sat 2 hours, they took my money, they did nothing. And I had to bring my child, to a house with no utilities, and the only FIX that came, was a friend who rented me a hotel room. As much horror that I can describe in the coming months, I'll simplify for Speed. I PAID DAVID MANN OVER $11,000 In 4 MONTHS, in $1150.00 chunks, NO MATTER WHAT WENT ON, THE ONLY WAY I SPOKE TO HIM WAS GOING THRU THE RUDE MOTHER RECEPTIONIST, ONLY TO BE TOLD COME TO THE OFFICE BRING $1150.00. ANY DAMN QUESTION I HAD, IT WAS $1150.00 COME TO OFFICE. NOT ONE THING WAS FIXED, NOT ONE MOTION BENEFITED ME. DAVID MANN, AS I LATER LEARNED, FAILED TO FILE THE MOST CRUCIAL MOTION OF THE WHOLE DIVORCE ( which ultimately lasted 4 long years ) AND THAT WAS THE ASSET FREEZE. I HAD NO ACCESS TO ONE PENNY OF OUR MONEY MY ENTIRE DIVORCE BECAUSE OF HIM.MY EX, HAD ALL ACCESS ALL BY HIMSELF

HORRIBLE ATTORNEY! RUN FAR AWAY!!!

I agree with a lot of reviews on here...it's been a few years now since I made the HORRIBLE decision in choosing this man as my divorce attorney. Going through such a horrible situation at the time & dealing with an ex that was addicted to drugs, I sat there sobbing while he suggested my ex-husband ...(after 7 years of marriage) have custody rights over my son. HELLO!?!! There is a reason I don't want him to have any rights to my child! He is a horrible, sleazy attorney who is just after your money. If you are expecting ANY kind of empathy from this man over your case - forget about it. He will only make your life 100x worse than what it may already be! I've never received a dime of child support from my ex-husband & have since gone to another attorney to take away all of my exes legal rights. My advice is to listen to these reviews & find a better attorney out there!!!

Run, Don't Walk Away, From This 'Lawyer'

Has no business dealing in high conflict divorces, let alone family law. Never available for questions. Not prepared for court. Showed up late. Left our file at his office. Didn't recognize us even though we had been to his office and been to court with him several times before. Changed the name of h...is law firm several times while we were clients. Even changed office locations and failed to inform us. His cell phone number is constantly being changed. Office phones never work. Email doesn't work. They tell you the best way to get a response is to email, but emails are returned weeks later, if at all. We had several emergency situations (police involvement during exchanges, mother denying visitation, mother picking kids up from school when it's not her time) and he was always unavailable. Calls were returned days later, if at all. His staff is not knowledgeable and the office is a revolving door. He was not knowledgeable in family law. One of his selling points was that he clerked for our judge, but he never had anything prepared the way she liked it. Never presented it the way she liked it. We had to pay the ex thousands of dollars because he told us several times there were things we didn't have to file or documents we didn't have to produce or he added unsubstantiated claims to motions and the judge felt it 'harassed' the other side.

Worst MANN for the job!

DO NOT GO TO HIM! He only does what is good for himself. If he has to fight in court against another attorney who happens to be his friend, he will find a way to settle rather than doing what is right for the client. My friend and her ex-husband were in a custody battle and her ex's attorney was fri...ends with Mr. Mann. She should have gotten custody but he did not want to argue for hours in court with his good buddy, Mark Smith. Not only this, HE WAS MAKING PASSES AT HER! She even brought her current fiancee to a few meetings and he still would send inappropriate text messages. He would constantly cancel appointments and was usually always late for court. When he finally made it to the court dates he had to be refreshed on the case by my friend. Then once he started hitting on her he definitely remembered her but STILL had to be refreshed on the case before every court hearing. Steer clear of this guy and his company. Also, I would steer clear of Mark Smith as well.

If you want to play roulette with fighting for custody rights, then hire him..you'll lose for sure.

This guy and James use scare tactics and plays on the emotions of the people he "promised" to help. Never in my life would I expect a lawyer to tell me "If you don't hire me now and pay up front, you'll lose custody of your son." I titled my car to give this disgusting man money. Only to have him scr...ew up the case by accusing my ex husband of something unfounded, because Mr. Mann FAILED to do any work on the case or have any knowledge. What kind of attorney asks you "remind me about the case?". Unethical is an understatement! He asked for $800 3 days before my hearing..I didn't have it, so he withdrew and tried to keep my file that I DID ALL THE WORK ON.... Needless to say, I didn't win my case at all. That day in court I had to "settle" because this guy only wants your $$. Does not care about mothers and their sons. Case complaint currently pending with Nevada State Bar. And definitely do not let James get a hold of you.

This is our response to the negative review. Simply put, this is not our client. D.L. Mann, our award-winning attorney was recently ranked as one of the "Top Lawyers in Nevada" as ranked by The Legal Network 2013. Because he is an aggressive litigator, opposing parties (where deserved) have went to jail, lost their children, and lost their cases due to his relentless litigation. Every now and then one of these parties will pretend to be a client and post a bad review. However, if even a small amount of this were true then he would not have a perfect zero-discipline Bar record and have never even been sued for malpractice. Notice they do not put their full name and stand behind their statements, whereas we are proud to say who we are and what we do. See for yourself. Give us a call and see the service you get.
