This case expanded the equitable adoption doctrine in the State of Nevada so that it now applies to paternity actions. Mr. Fleeman argued this case before the full Nevada Supreme Court in January 2017. ... In June 2017, the court issued a published opinion in which the Court ruled 7-0 in favor of Mr. Fleeman's arguments in the case -- a four-justice majority agreeing on equitable adoption grounds, and the remaining three justices agreeing under the Nevada paternity statute.
