Hire a lawyer who will try and handle it by telephone plea. Need letter from doctor saying you can't travel. Mostly a hassle getting things done...

Judge will assume you will continue unless you speak up. You shouldn't need a lawyer however.

Your lawyer could have requested a new judge within 10 days of receiving petition but now it's probably too late.
