Daniel E. Gershon

Dan Gershon has been practicing as an attorney in New Mexico since 1986. Prior to associating with Sheehan & Sheehan in 2012, Mr. Gershon was employed at the New Mexico Department of Transportation from 2000 to 2012 where he served as Deputy General Counsel and Acting General Counsel at the New Mexico Department of Transportation. Mr. Gershon had an active litigation practice, involving all phases of litigation, with regard to construction claims, bid protests, claims against utility companies, eminent domain, regulatory takings, water law, quiet title, and torts. Mr. Gershon was also responsible for serving as lead counsel on a wide variety of issues relating to highway construction, contracts and procurement, Inspection of Public Records Act requests, Open Meetings Act issues, Indian tax issues, federal regulations and compliance, drafting of contracts, rulemaking, bond and finance issues, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program, drafting of legislation and regulations, and railroad matters.

Prior to joining the New Mexico Department of Transportation, Mr. Gershon was in private practice with an active litigation practice involving insurance defense litigation, torts, defense of police civil rights claims, antitrust, oil and gas litigation, and breach of contracts.
